Doulton
Fountain in Glasgow Green
The Fountain was moved to the Green in 1890 after the 1888 International Exhibition in Kelvingrove. The fountain shows the four main British colonies - Australia, Canada, India and South Africa with soldiers and sailers above, and a statue of Queen Victoria on top. The Doulton Fountain is the largest terracotta fountain in the world. It is also the best surviving example of its kind. |
